ESN Smart Nitrogen

ESN® Smart Nitrogen is the only controlled-release nitrogen designed for broad acre agriculture that delivers a significant return on investment through increased nitrogen efficiency. ESN technology uses a flexible polymer coating to encapsulate a urea granule comprised of 44% nitrogen. The unique coating protects and releases the nitrogen based on soil temperature. ESN gives crops the nitrogen it needs, when needed.

CAN17

If there’s one thing that fruit, vegetable and nut growers know, it’s that quality counts. That’s why they’ve relied on the original CAN17 since 1955 to get the most from their crops. Nutrien Calcium Ammonium Nitrate, also known as CAN17, is a powerful, fast-acting fertilizer containing two forms of nitrogen for a quick response plus sustained feeding. CAN17 is a non-pressurized, odorless liquid that’s simple to store and apply to a variety of crops.

MAP + MST

The latest, most efficient system for delivering sulfur and phosphate to meet your crop’s needs and maximize production. Micronized Sulfur Technology (MST) is a patented technology where the elemental sulfur source has the smallest particle size in the industry. The small particle size allows for elemental sulfur oxidation within the growing season time frame.

Potash

Nutrien is the largest soft rock miner and potash producer in the world with over 20 million tonnes of potash capacity at our six lower-cost potash mines in Saskatchewan. With decades of high-quality reserves and our multi-year expansions complete, we are well positioned to meet the world’s long-term potash needs.

Nitrogen

Nutrien is the third-largest nitrogen producer in the world with over 7 million tonnes of gross ammonia capacity and the ability to produce more than 11 million tonnes of total nitrogen products in the US, Canada and Trinidad. We distribute our nitrogen products across an extensive network of approximately 190 distribution points and lease approximately 5,700 railcars to help carry our products. Nutrien’s nitrogen production network is low-cost and diversified, with opportunities to execute high-return and low-risk brownfield projects, expand our production of sustainability products and significantly lower our carbon footprint. As part of this effort of reducing the carbon footprint of our nitrogen operations, we have initiatives focused around energy efficiency, carbon capture and CO2 abatement.

Phosphate

Nutrien is the second largest North American phosphate producer, with two large integrated phosphate facilities and four regional product upgrade facilities in the US. The high quality of our phosphate rock enables production of a diverse mix of phosphate products, including solid and liquid fertilizers, feed and industrial acids. This flexibility allows us to optimize our product mix during changing market conditions. We sell the majority of our product in the North American market and benefit from our extensive distribution network and customer relationships. Fertilizer sales historically represent approximately 75 percent of our phosphate sales.
